One of the most inspiring stories for me, on setting a goal, and then going after it with all your mind, might, heart, and soul is Jacob (Ph.D) at Early Retirement Extreme. He is in his 30s – [I believe he is 33]. He became financially independent in 5 years. Early retirement has always been one of my goals. I didn’t know how I would do it, but I believed it would happen. Jacob provided the inspiration and direction that the books and blogs that I had read could not provide. I am not living the way Jacob lived yet! But my thinking is transformed, and with transformed thought, usually comes transformed action! I am not sure my retirement will happen in my 30s as it did for Jacob, but I am hopeful that it will happen before I lose my ability to play competitive Chess!
I think that, even if one does not intend to learn about the money aspect of life, one can still benefit by learning the sacrifices one may need to make to achieve a worthwhile goal. You may need to create relevant sacrifices (applicable to whatever your aspirations are. For most CPA candidates, it may be giving up some thing(s) to make time to study for the CPA exam.)
Get inspired at your own risk! Here is part 1.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you found that helpful.

I’m 34 now and retired from my career half a year ago. Still enjoying it very much!
